Data Model: Use in Other Data Models (Inverse Hierarchy)Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The inverse hierarchy shows the data models to which a selected data model is assigned.

Process

Finding Out in Which Other Data Models a Data Model Is Used

Follow the procedure below:

  1. In the Data Modeler: Initial Screen enter the name of the entity type in the entry field Modeling Object.

  2. Choose Data Model under Selection.

  3. Click on Display or Change.

  4. Choose Start of the navigation path Utilities Next navigation step Inverse Hierarchy End of the navigation path in the screen Display (or Change) Data Model: Definition. The screen Inverse Hierarchy: Data Model DATA MODEL NAME appears.

The Inverse Hierarchy: Data Model DATA MODEL NAME shows the data model from which you branched to the inverse hierarchy as the root. Below this, the "next highest" level is displayed, that is, the data model(s) that are directly above the data model you started from. Therefore, the "higher" an object is in the hierarchy, the "lower" it is shown here.

To display the color legend for this display, choose Start of the navigation path Utilities Next navigation step Color Key... End of the navigation path.

You can change the display of the inverse hierarchy. More information: Inverse Hierarchy: Changing the Display.

Note

You can also call a general where-used list for modeling objects by choosing Start of the navigation path Utilities Next navigation step Where-Used List End of the navigation path. More information: ABAP Repository Information System.
