Changing Data ModelsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

If you do not know the precise name of the data model to be changed, start by looking for it in the ABAP Repository Information System. To do this, select the modeling object Data Model in the Data Modeler: Initial Screen and click on Find. More information: ABAP Repository Information System.

Process

To change a data model, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the name of the data model to be changed in the Modeling Object field on the Data Modeler: Initial Screen.

  2. Choose Data Model under Selection.

  3. Confirm Change.

  4. On the Change Data Model: Definition screen, change the attributes.

    • Short text (mandatory)

    • Type

    • Graphics information:

      You can define here the color you want your data model to have in the graphics. To display a list of available colors, choose F4.

    • References

    • Definition:

      You can access the text editor by clicking Editor or by double-clicking the definition text. You can enter more detailed definitions here.

  5. Save your data model.

To make changes to the hierarchy, you must access the hierarchy.

To access the screen Change Data Model: Hierarchy, choose Hierarchy.

The hierarchy is described in the Data Modeler: Hierarchy.
