A worklist is a group of postprocessing orders that are all edited by the same team of employees.

You can assign at least one worklist to every employee. You can also assign worklists to organizational units.

You must have defined the worklists in Customizing. There, you can also assign worklists to specific business processes and define a root organizational unit. The corresponding Customizing activities are found in the Customizing for Postprocessing Office under Worklist.

The definition and assignment of worklists has the following advantages:

  • During dialog processing in Postprocessing Office, the Overview Screen displays the postprocessing orders that are in the employee’s worklist by default.

  • On the Initial Screen for Postprocessing Desktop, you can use filter functions to define specific worklists. The system then displays the relevant postprocessing orders on the overview screen.

  • In processing use a Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI), the system selects only postprocessing orders from the specified worklists.

For more information about assignment of users or organizational units to worklists, see Changing Worklist Assignments and Displaying Worklist Assignments.
