You use this procedure to perform the following:

  • View the development components of the deployed processes, versions of the components deployed, and all the process and task definitions deployed.

  • Activate a version or deactivate a development component as a whole.

  • Start the process instances for administration test purposes.

  • Download all the corresponding files of processes and tasks, for example, WSDL files, data types, and so on.

  • Configure the involved Web services of the processes in a development component.

Prerequisites

You must have at least one of the following roles assigned to you, based on the activities you want to perform as listed in the table below.

SAP_BPM_TRIGGER_EVENT

Start process through Web service call. Invoke intermediate message trigger through Web service call or public API.

Note Note

Assign this role if you want to authorize a user to start processes but not to give this users all the authorizations of the SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin role.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Administrator application.

  2. Choose   Configuration   Processes and Tasks   Process Repository  .

    The system displays the list of process composer development components deployed on the BPM server, and their details as described in the table below.

    Displays the list of development components created and deployed using the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

    Note Note

    You cannot undeploy the processes or development components containing the processes from the process repository.

    List of Versions of Component <component name>

    Displays the available versions and the current active version of the selected development component

    Note Note

    • If required, you can activate a different version by selecting the required version entry and choosing the Activate button. The existing version will then be deactivated.

    • If you do not want to use a component anymore, you can deactivate the component (all versions) by choosing the Deactivate All button. The running process instances of a deactivated process version fail to receive further messages. For more information, refer to SAP Note No. 1384957.

    Details of Component <component name> and Version <component version>

    • Processes and Tasks tab page: Displays process and task definitions of the selected component and version number.

    • Resources tab page: Displays files of processes and tasks, for example, WSDL files, data types, and so on.

  3. Optional: To view the process model of a process, select the required process in the Processes and Tasks tab page and choose Process Flow.

  4. To start a process with an active version, proceed as follows:

    1. Choose the Processes and Tasks tab page.

    2. Select the required process definition and choose Start Process....

      The system launches the process startup UI and displays the technical artifact of the involved Web service at the bottom of the screen.

    3. Enter the required input parameters and choose Start Process.

  5. Optional: To download a file, select the required file in the Resources tab page and choose Download Resource.

    The download files function is intended for support purposes.
