Use

When you configure a connection, you can assign a communication channel and get a collaboration agreement calculated for each activated sender/receiver relation.

Note that in certain cases it is not necessary to define a sender agreement. For more information, see Sender Agreement.

You do not need to assign a communication channel for an integration process service.

Note

Note that the integration scenario configurator can only create collaboration agreements for sender/receiver relations that have been assigned a sender or receiver channel. If you do not assign a sender channel to a relation, for example, this will mean that no sender agreement will be created for this relation.

Prerequisites

You have called the Configure Connection dialog and have activated at least one sender/receiver relation.

Features

There are various different functions for assigning communication channels.

Assigning Communication Channels By Using the Input Help

You can select a communication channel from the list of existing communication channels. To do so, call the input help (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) from the Communication Channel column.

The input help first displays existing sender or receiver agreements for the sender/receiver relation. If a matching collaboration agreement exists, then the list of possible values will only contain the communication channel that is assigned to this collaboration agreement. If no matching collaboration agreement exists, the input help displays all communication channels that are assigned to the service.

Creating a Communication Channel with a Communication Channel Template

You can create a communication channel on the basis of a communication channel template. To do so, in the Communication Channel column, call the context menu and choose Create Communication Channel (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) ® Create Communication Channel with Template (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

Using the wizard, you select a communication channel from the Integration Repository and then create a communication channel based on it.

If the connection has already been assigned a communication channel template, it is the default communication channel template.

Creating a Communication Channel with a Copy Template

You can create a new communication channel on the basis of an existing communication channel. The communication channel is then used as a copy template.

To do so, in the Communication Channel column, call the context menu and choose Create Communication Channel (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) ® Create Communication Channel as Copy (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

Evaluation of Existing Collaboration Agreements

You can get the system to identify any existing collaboration agreements for all active sender/receiver relations. When a collaboration agreement is found, its communication channel is automatically assigned to the connection. Those sender/receiver relations that do not have matching collaboration agreements must be assigned communication channels manually.

To do so, in the Communication Channel column, call the context menu and choose Evaluate Agreements (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

Other Functions

You can use the following functions in the context menu to assign communication channels.
