During data harmonization the system automatically creates work items to indicate that a specified step of the harmonization process needs manual interaction. A work item contains a description of the issue that occurred and the affected harmonized object or source object.

The system collects all work items for each object type in one worklist per work item type.

Example Example

For a new source product, the system has found a similar harmonized product to which the source product could be assigned. However, the score of the similarity is not above the threshold that is defined for automatic harmonization in Customizing. The assignment has to be done manually.

End of the example.

If you do not want to process a work item, you can also disregard it. The system does not resolve the work item, the problem that caused the work item can persist.

The following table provides an overview of the possible work item types and how they can be resolved manually:

Work Item Type

Possible Reason

Procedure

01 Map Manually

  • No matching harmonized object could be determined.

  • The minimal score for automatic mapping that is set in Customizing has not been reached.

  • Multiple matching harmonized objects were determined.

Map data manually.

02 Confirm Mapping

The Customizing settings require confirmation of mapping and the system user who created the mapping has not sufficient authorization.

Review the mapped objects and confirm the mapping.

03 Revise Object

Attribute values of the harmonized object or the source object were changed that affect dependent data, for example, unit conversions.

Note Note

In the standard system these work items are created in the following situations:

  • The base unit of measure (UoM) of a harmonized object to which a source object is assigned has been changed.

  • The source object is assigned to a different harmonized object.

In these cases, the unit conversion from the base unit of measure of the harmonized object to base UoM the source object has to be revised and adapted, if necessary.

End of the note.

Open the object in edit mode, revise the dependent data, and save. Delete the work item manually.

04 Copy Attribute Values

  • The system tried to copy a new attribute value to a harmonized object, but the Customizing settings require changes to be approved.

  • The harmonized object could not be locked.

Open the worklist for this work item type, review the current attribute value in the harmonized object, and choose Resolve.

Dependent on the reason for the creation of the work item, the system does the following:

  • The system copies the attribute values.

  • If the work item has been created because the harmonized object could not be locked, the system starts calculation of the priorities of attribute values for all attributes of the harmonized object. You may get new work items because some attribute changes need approval.

Note Note

The worklist shows for each work item the technical name of the affected attribute. If this work item was created because the harmonized object was locked, this field is empty.

End of the note.

05 Perform Pending Mapping

The harmonized object to which a source object was mapped could not be locked and the mapping could not be saved.

Retry to perform the mapping or reject it in the worklist.

Note Note

If you want to use this work item type for manual changes also, you can specify the user-specific parameter Use Work Item Queue accordingly.

End of the note.

06 Perform Pending Update

The source object could not be locked during data import and could not be updated.

Retry to perform the update in the worklist.
