An error at step level can impact process definition level and/or data delivery agreement level.
Once a SAP NetWeaver BW process chain is triggered by SAP Demand Signal Management, it runs autonomously and reports a positive or negative status back to SAP Demand Signal Management. This requires that the process type /DDF/STATU is used at the end of the process chain. If a process chain fails, for example due to an extraction issue or DTP failure, the step then shows the status Error - Data Delivery Agreement Level (Subsequent Steps) (1400).
Ensure you have scheduled a periodic job to adjust the steps' statuses when a process chain fails. If you use the daemon framework, the Job Administrative Tasks is responsible for this task.
Examples for failed steps are:
Requests with red statuses in the data target (see Resolving Step Errors (I))
Requests with red statuses in the step (data does not contain errors) (seeResolving Step Errors (I))
Requests with red statuses in the step (data contains errors) (see Resolving Step Errors (II))
Transformation errors (software bug) (see Resolving Step Errors (II))
