Correspondence Types 
Key that defines a correspondence type with associated control attributes. A correspondence type specifies correspondence belonging to the same category.
A correspondence
type defines which data is temporarily saved in the correspondence
request in the context of correspondence generation.
This data is accessed during execution of the correspondence print
run.
Correspondence types are fixed in the system and cannot be changed. However, you have the option of defining your own additional correspondence types.
You make the settings for correspondence types in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) by choosing Tools ® Correspondence Tool ® Define Correspondence Types.
The following correspondence types are available in Account Management (FS-AM):
Changing individual conditions
Conditions form the basis for settling payment transaction account settlements. They control interest calculation, debiting of charges and value date methods.
Individual
conditions are conditions that always apply to only one
account.
You can change
individual conditions from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account
Management ® Account ® Account Master Data ® Create Account or Change Account, on the
Financial
Conditionstab
page.
Limits
Limits control by
how much an account can be overdrawn. You can generate correspondence for the
correspondence types in the following list:
· Granting credit limits
· Reducing credit limits
· Deleting credit limits limit
You can edit limits from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management ® Account ® Account Master Data ® Create Account or Change Account, on the Limits tab page.
Account closure
At the
customer’s request, a confirmation letter is created for the required
account
closure or deactivation of an account. The customer always receives notification in the
case of closure by the bank. This notification is addressed to the account
holder.
The following correspondence can be generated in the context of account closure:
· Activate account closure
· Deactivate account closure
· Execute account closure
· Reverse account closure
You can edit account closures from the SAP Easy Access screen under Account Management ® Account ® Account Master Data ® Close Account.
Account product change – confirmation of execution
This is used to depict the transition of a source product to a target product within an account. During a product change, the history and central data, such as the account number and account holder, remains unchanged.
You can carry out
an
account
product change from the SAP Easy Accessscreen by choosing Account Management
® Account ® Account Master Data ® Change Account Product.
Account holder change
You can generate
correspondence both before and after an
account holder
change.
You can edit account holder changes from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management (FS-AM) ® Account ® Account Master Data ® Change Account Holder.
Notice on amount
The following
correspondence can be generated for a
notice on
amount:
· Activate notice on amount
· Deactivate notice on amount
You can edit notices on amounts from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management (FS-AM) ® Account ® Notice on Amount ® Give Notice on Amount.
Time deposit agreement
The following
correspondence can be generated for
time
deposits:
· Confirmation of new creation (creation of a new time deposit agreement)
· Notice of maturity (notice that the time deposit will be called in a few days)
· Confirmation of re-creation (creation of a follow-on agreement)
· Confirmation of settlement (calling a time deposit)
You can edit time deposits from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management (FS-AM) ® Account ® Time Deposit Agreement.
Savings scheme agreement
The following
correspondence can be generated for a
savings scheme
agreement:
· Monitoring
¡ Reminder letter (reminder for a due installment payment)
¡ Dunning letter (warning about an unpaid installment)
¡ Overpayment (information that an amount exceeding the agreed installment has been paid)
You can have the due dates for the installment agreement displayed from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management (FS-AM) ® Account ® Savings Scheme Agreement
· Term
¡ Display the end of the savings phase
¡ Display the end of the savings scheme agreement
¡ Final notification (details about the actions carried out at the end of the savings scheme agreement)
During the term of the savings scheme agreement you can create correspondence from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management (FS-AM) ® Periodic Tasks ® Savings Scheme Agreement.
Payment item
Payment items are
used to create one-sided postings (for example, cash deposits, debit
collections). In addition, payment items can be generated by the posting of
payment
orders.
Correspondence for payment items is exclusively event-controlled.
· Dishonored items (confirmation of non-execution from target side)
Examples of dishonored items:
¡ Dishonored checks
¡ Dishonored debit memos
· Returns
Returns are a
bank’s option of returning payment items already posted to customer or
CpD (suspense) accounts that are not being accepted. (Example: returned debit
memo, returned check)
Bank statement
Bank statements
provide customers with comprehensive information about turnovers and balances,
and about account settlements.
·
Regular bank
statement
This is generated
periodically in the context of a mass run and provides information about
receivables, payables and balances for a customer at regularly recurring
intervals.
·
Event-controlled
bank statement
This is triggered not
periodically, but when a posting or a business-related event (for example,
returning a debit memo) occurs.
You can call up bank statements from the SAP Easy Access screen under Account Management (FS-AM) ® Account ®Bank Statement ® Create Bank Statement.
Balance confirmation
A
balance
confirmation contains the posting date-based account balance of an account
contract. The balance is based on open items.
To create balance confirmations, from the SAP Easy Access screen choose Account Management
®
Periodic Tasks ® Balance Confirmation ® Start Mass Run.
Possible uses for balance confirmations include:
· External auditors inform some random customers about the current balance of their account.
· You inform your customers periodically about the current balance of their account.
Bank check creation
The following
correspondence can be generated in the context of
bank check
management:
· Creation of bank checks
Activity status conversion
The following correspondence can be generated for activity status conversion:
· Correspondence for activity status conversion
The following correspondence can be generated for cards:
· Confirmation of execution of a product change – individual card
· Confirmation of execution of a product change – card pool
· Card cancellation

Payment order
Correspondence for
a
payment
order is exclusively event-controlled correspondence that is generated for
corresponding business transactions.
The following correspondence can be generated for payment orders:
· Confirmation of execution
· Confirmation of non-execution
You can edit payment orders from the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Account Management ® Payment Transaction Orders ® Payment Order ® Change Payment Order.
Forward order
A
forward order is a
payment order that is not executed immediately, but in the future on a certain
execution date.
Correspondence for a forward order is exclusively event-controlled correspondence that is generated for relevant business transactions. The following correspondence can be created for a forward order:
· Creation of forward order
· Change to forward order
· Deletion of forward order
You can edit forward orders from theSAP Easy Access screen under Account Management ® Payment Transaction Orders ® Forward Order ® Change Forward Order.
Standing order
A
standing order is
a payment order for a particular amount that is executed regularly on a
certain date in favor of one or more certain recipients.
Correspondence for a standing order is exclusively event-controlled correspondence that is generated for relevant business transactions. The following correspondence can be created for a standing order:
· Creation of standing order
· Change to standing order
· Deletion of standing order
· Confirmation of execution of a standing order
· Confirmation of non-execution of a standing order
You can edit standing orders from theSAP Easy Access screen under Account Management ® Payment Transaction Orders ® Standing Order ® Change Standing Order.
