Sites
A site is a physical dataset that exists outside the consolidated database (CDB). It involves a receiver and/or supplier of data for replication that is defined on the CRM Server. There are different site types, such as mobile terminals (Mobile Clients), an SAP backend system, or non-SAP systems.
In addition to the delivered site types you can create your own user-specific site types.
You can assign subscriptions, employees, and organizations to a site.
To display sites that have already been defined, choose the object type Site in the Object Type dropdown box. If required, make an entry in the field Object Name, and choose the icon
(Display).
You can edit sites by:
You can schedule sites of type Mobile Client. You can deactivate sites for a certain period of time and determine replacement sites that receive the data for the scheduled site. You can also define templates for substitution rules.
The assignment of a mobile site to the computer (Client) of a mobile employee must be carried out in the respective client. Additional information is available under Assigning and Reassigning a Site ID to the Mobile Client.
You can release mobile sites that have already been assigned, when they are displayed in the Administration Console. You do this by using the pushbutton Release from Client in the Object Information area.
Mobile sites that have not yet been assigned, or that have been released again, are identified as such when they are displayed in the Object Information area.
