Runtime Version
Collection of all the master data for a knowledge-base object that is valid on a specified date. The master data can be replicated in this form only and used in the product configuration process with the Configuration Engine.
You can use a runtime version to replicate the master data relevant for the configuration and make it available where the Configuration Engine is used. Since the master data in the runtime version is always mapped the way it is at a specific time, runtime versions can also be used to manage versions.
You specify a runtime version with the following information:
· The validity date that determines the time when the “snapshot” of the knowledge-base object is made.

All the objects of the knowledge-base object (such as characteristics) have the same validity in the runtime version.

To use objects in the product configuration process that are assigned a validity date in the future in the master data maintenance function in mySAP ERP, a runtime version with an appropriate validity date is required.
· Exactly one plant
· Exactly one BOM application
· One or more languages
· Class type
· Indicator that shows whether actions are used.
New database records are created when a new runtime version is generated.
If you change and regenerate the same runtime version, these database records are overwritten.
