Creating a Runtime Version
When a runtime version is created, the sales-relevant table fields in the master data are copied to a format that can be replicated.
During the modeling process, you have taken into account the specific requirements for maintaining master data for the Configuration Engine (see ERP Master Data and Configuration Engine).
You have created and released a knowledge-base object (see Creating a Knowledge-Base Object).
1. In the Variant Configuration menu, choose Knowledge Base → Runtime Version → Create.
2.
Specify the
knowledge-base object whose runtime version you want to create. Assign a name
for the runtime version and choose
.
3. Enter the following:
a. Date for the runtime version
b. Status of the runtime version

You can replicate only runtime versions that have Released status.
c. To load descriptions in all languages, do not make an entry in the Language Key field.

Missing language-dependent descriptions can cause errors in the target system during the configuration process.
4. If you want to use actions, choose Incl. actions (for more information about using actions, see ERP Master Data and Configuration Engine).
5.
Choose
.
The program collects and compiles all the relevant objects, checks the class networks to ensure they are consistent, and saves the runtime version. Every object is only included once in the runtime version even if
· The object is used at several points in the configuration model
· You have defined more than one knowledge-base profile.

For system information with regard to errors, see the ERP application log: start transaction SLG1; enter log object PPVA and subobject KBMT.
The configuration master data collected in the runtime version is now ready to be replicated.
