Consuming Remote iViews / Portlets by WSRP
Application Sharing
A content administrator on a NetWeaver consumer portal can view the portlets and iViews exposed by a remote non-SAP or NetWeaver producer portal, respectively. The content administrator on the consumer can then create local iViews that reference the remote portlets or iViews on the producer; these local iViews are called proxy-to-portlet iViews.
Typically, this mode is intended to support any NetWeaver consumer portal wanting to consume portlets residing on a non-SAP producer. It also supports NetWeaver-to-NetWeaver connections; however, using the remote delta link mode has numerous advantages over WSRP application sharing (see 'Remote Delta Link' Mode).

The content administrator on the consumer does the following:
...
1. Launches the Proxy-to-Portlet iView Wizard.
2. Selects the content producer and chooses the relevant remote portlets/iViews.
3. Creates a proxy-to-portlet iView for each remote portlets/iViews.
4. Tests the proxy-to-portlet iViews.
5. Assigns the proxy-to-portlet iView to local pages, worksets, or roles.
