Uploading Roles for Display in the Detailed
Navigation
Uploading ABAP roles to the SAP NetWeaver Portal can cause users to end up with too many top-level entries. Use workset templates to display roles in the Detailed Navigation of other roles.

This procedure is only valid for object type Role. Do not use this procedure to upload transactions or MiniApps.

The uploaded roles appear in the Portal Catalog under Migrated Content ® SAPComponentSystems ® Roles ® <Name of logical system> as portal roles under the name of the logical system. The hierarchy of these portal roles is expanded to include the folders of the workset template. The folder Home appears as entry point in the role hierarchy, followed by the folders Work and Transaction. The object to be replaced with the uploaded content appears below Transaction. It has the name of the role and contains a link to an additional content object containing the uploaded content.
This additional content object is a workset that is created automatically and has the same ID and name as the previously created portal role. The object appears in the folder Content in the Portal Catalog. The folder Content is automatically created below the folder for the logical system name during the upload. The system creates a workset with the same name and containing the uploaded content for each uploaded portal role.
The uploaded roles now appear in the portal navigation in the standard user role (eu_role) under Home ® Work ® Transactions.
