Function documentation Display of Uploaded Roles in the Detailed Navigation  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can change the role upload procedure so that the role content from the backend system automatically appears in the detailed navigation and no longer in top-level navigation. This prevents your top-level navigation from containing too many entry points.

Prerequisites

To use the sample workset navTemplateWorkset, you must import it into the SAP NetWeaver Portal. For more information, see Importing EPA Archives.

You can find the workset in SAP Note 762998, where it is attached as a zip file (navTemplateWorksetExample.zip). The zip file also contains a dummy workset replaceTarget, which is used as the link target object.

After the import both worksets appear at the following location in the Portal Catalog:

Portal Content ® Migrated Content ® SAPComponentSystems ® navtemplateWorkset/replaceTarget.

The workset template contains the dummy workset replaceTarget in the fourth level. It is replaced with the uploaded content. The workset template has the following hierarchy nodes: Home ® Work ® Transaction ® replaceTarget.

Note

Folders Home and Work in workset navTemplateWorkset correspond to folders Home and Work in the Every User role (eu_role). To prevent these folders from appearing twice in the top-level navigation, they must be merged with the corresponding folders of the standard user role. The merge ID of merged nodes must always be identical. For more information about the merge procedure see Merging Navigation Nodes and Defining the Sequence.
