Uploading Objects to the Portal 

Use

Use this procedure to upload object from ABAP-based systems to the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Prerequisites

●      You have met the prerequisites for performing role upload to the portal.

For more information, see Prerequisites for Role Upload.

●      You have made required configurations of the role upload service.

For more information, see Configuring the Role Upload Service.

Procedure

       1.      Determine the objects to upload.

       2.      Define the upload settings.

For more information, see Defining Settings for the Upload.

       3.      Choose Start Upload.

Result

An overview of the role upload report appears. The overview displays the progress of the upload and any error messages. You can choose to refresh the overview manually or have the portal update the display automatically. Under the Log Viewer tab is a list of past upload reports.

If an error occurs you can view the details of the portal upload report. To enable a more detailed report for troubleshooting, enable the Activate detailed information for debugging property for the role upload service and start the upload again. For more information, see Configuring the Role Upload Service.

Although you can use the uploaded objects as is, consider editing the portal objects to make them more usable. For more information, see Post-Processing in the Portal.
