Creation of Mobile Upgrade Packages 

Purpose

This topic outlines the process of building Mobile Upgrade Packages using the Mobile Upgrade Console.

Process Flow

       1.      Upgrade Units are created either by extending Standard Units shipped by SAP or by creating an empty Upgrade Unit.

       2.      Commands, files and folders are included in the Upgrade Unit based on what the Upgrade Unit should contain. Properties of the Upgrade Unit are defined. For more information, see Creation of an Upgrade Unit.

       3.      Upgrade Scripts (.rbn files) are created by adding one or more predefined or customized Upgrade Units. For more information, see Creating an Upgrade Script.

       4.      Priorities, properties and contents of Upgrade Units are updated, if required. The type of upgrade (online or offline) is specified.

       5.      A Mobile Upgrade Package is created from an Upgrade Script. A Mobile Upgrade Package is identified as a .mup file. For more information, see Creating a Mobile Upgrade Package.

       6.      The Mobile Upgrade Package is sent via the online or offline mode to mobile clients for deployment. For more information, see Sending Mobile Upgrade Packages: Online Mode or Offline Upgrade Deployment.
