Procedure documentation Creating a Mobile Upgrade Package Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this procedure to create a Mobile Upgrade Package (a file with the extension .mup) for an Upgrade Script  you want to deploy to mobile clients. A Mobile Upgrade Package contains the actual data (files and folders) and information on what operations need to be performed on this data.

Prerequisites

You have created required Upgrade Units.

Procedure

       1.      Choose Mode ®Work with Upgrades.

The chosen mode, in this case Upgrade Mode, is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of your screen.

       2.      Choose Open.

The Open window appears.

       3.      Choose the required Upgrade Script (.rbn file) and select Open.

The Upgrade Editor appears displaying the Upgrade Units.

                            a.      If you want to add or remove Upgrade Units:

                                                  i.       Choose Units ® Add\Remove… from the menu bar.

The Upgrade Wizard appears.

                                                ii.       Check or uncheck the Upgrade Units required.

                                               iii.       Choose Finish.

The selected or unselected Upgrade Units are added to or removed from the Upgrade Script.

                                               iv.       Choose Save.

                            b.      If you want to change the priority of an Upgrade Unit:

                                                  i.       From the Unit Bar on the left, choose the required Upgrade Unit.

The color of the selected Upgrade Unit changes to red.

                                                ii.       Choose the appropriate arrow button at the top the Unit Bar.

The chosen Upgrade Unit is moved to the new priority position.

                            c.      If you want to change the properties of an Upgrade Unit:

                                                  i.       Choose the required Upgrade Unit

                                                ii.       Choose the Unit Properties button at the top of the Unit Bar.

The Unit Properties window appears where you can make required changes.

       4.      Choose Create Package.

The Mobile Upgrade Package (.mup file) is created in the specific location. This is the file that needs to be deployed. If you want to navigate to the file now, select Show Folder.

Result

A Mobile Upgrade Package is created. You can now proceed to send the Mobile Upgrade Package to mobile clients either via the Offline or Online mode. For more information see, Sending Mobile Upgrade Packages: Online Mode or Offline Upgrade Deployment.
