Procedure documentation Creating an Upgrade Script Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this procedure to create an Upgrade Script that must be included in an Upgrade Package for deployment to mobile clients. An Upgrade Script contains a complete description of the upgrade and consists of Upgrade Units created earlier (using predefined or Standard Units) or Upgrade Units that you can create during this procedure.

Procedure

       1.      Choose Mode ® Work with Upgrades.

The chosen mode, in this case Upgrade Mode, is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

       2.      Choose New.

The Upgrade Wizard appears.

       3.      Indicate the Upgrade Units you want to include. Choose one of the following:

¡        Predefined Upgrade Units – Choose this option if you want to include Upgrade Units created earlier by you or Standard Units. These units are available in the list. You can choose one or more of the following units based on the changes you have made to the mobile client application.

§         Deploy BOL changes

§         Deploy UI changes

§         Deploy BDOC changes

§         Upgrade IDES

§         Run Post Install

§         Upgrade Specific

¡        A new Upgrade unit – Choose this option if you want to create an Upgrade Unit now. Choose Next. The New Unit window appears. For more information, see Creation of an Upgrade Unit.

       4.      Choose Finish.

The Upgrade Editor is launched containing the Upgrade Units chosen previously.

       5.      In the Unit bar on the left, enter a Name for the Upgrade Script.

       6.      Choose Check Consistency to check that all files and folders included in the Upgrade Units are available on the current machine.

       7.      Choose Properties.

The Upgrade Properties window appears.

¡        General – Enter a description and the folder to store the Mobile Upgrade Package that you will deploy later..

¡        Type – Choose the type of deployment based on your requirement.

       8.      Choose OK.

       9.      From the toolbar, choose Save.

The Save As window appears.

   10.      Choose Save.

Result

The Upgrade Script is saved with the file name <Name of Upgrade>.rbn. You can now create an Mobile Upgrade Package for deployment. For more information see, Creating a Mobile Upgrade Package.
