Definition

Standard Units are predefined units shipped by SAP with the Mobile Upgrade Console. These Units contain instructions to upgrade mobile clients on User Interface (UI), database, Business Object Layer (BOL) and Message changes.

Use

You use Standard Units to upgrade the existing version of a mobile client application, on mobile clients, with a latest or customized version.

The Standard Units shipped by SAP are described below.

Deploy BDoc changes

This unit contains instructions pertaining to BDocs. Before using this unit, you must generate the TPS.NET file using Client Console for the BDoc you have changed.

Deploy Index changes

This unit contains instructions pertaining to tables. Before using this unit, you must generate the TableIndexScripts.TXT file, using the Client Console, for tables you have changed.

Deploy BOL changes

This unit contains instructions pertaining to business logic and messages. Before using this unit, you must generate appropriate runtime files using SAP Mobile Application Studio for the business logic and messages you have changed.

Deploy UI changes

This unit contains instructions pertaining to the user interface. Before using this unit, you must generate appropriate runtime files using SAP Mobile Application Studio for the user interface you have changed.

SAP-Upgrade IDES

This unit contains instructions pertaining to the application database. You will use this unit when upgrading mobile clients from a previous version (3.0) to the current version (4.0). Alternately, you will also use this unit to upgrade mobile clients between support packages within the CRM 4.0 release.

Before using this unit, you must copy the SQL scripts and other files shipped by SAP for the application database changes into the corresponding folder onto the development workstation. For more information, see the Upgrade Guide of the corresponding Support Package.
