Theme Management
You use themes to create a uniform interface for your eBay® listings. You create themes in Web Auctions Administration.
You can apply the same theme to all listings, or you can choose to apply a theme to specific product categories. You give each theme its’ own name and description so that you can distinguish between them easily.
A theme consists of five sections:
· Header
· Shipping policy
· Payment policy
· Additional terms
· Product Description
You create the content for these sections using HTML..
Sellers can select one of the themes you create to set as a preference in the seller side of the Web Auctions Administration application. This saves the seller time during auction creation.
· You have configured the Web Auctions Administration application on the SAP J2EE server with SAP R/3 or SAP CRM. For more information, see the configuration documentation in SAP Solution Manager
· You have an administrator user and are logged on to the Web Auctions Administration application as an administrator.
· You have created an HTML document for the product description, if you want to upload this file into the theme.
The content for the header, shipping policy, payment policy, and additional terms sections stays the same across themes as they contain general auction information which you will not generally vary per listing.
When you create a new theme you do not need to change the content of these sections, you use the original content you created.
The content of the product description varies for each theme as it displays content for each individual product. You use HTML in the description section to create the static properties, and custom tags to enable the system to retrieve the variable product information.
You create theme content in the Web Auctions Administration application under Auction Administration ® Manage Themes. You create the content in one of two ways:
· Directly within the Section Source area
Create a theme, and enter the HTML coding directly into the Section Source.
The HTML can be any standard HTML tag apart from html, head, or body.
· By uploading an HTML document
Search for previously created HTML files under Select File ® Theme Section Upload. Browse for and upload a file.
Once you have created a theme you can display a preview of the theme as it will appear in your listing, and you can edit or delete themes.
In addition you can also add tags to themes. For more information see Custom Tags.
