Location in the Sales Order 
When a sales order is created in CRM Enterprise, you need to specify which location is to be used in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) to check availability of the products.
The location is stored in CRM Enterprise as a business partner. For each location
· There must be a business partner record with the business partner category organizational unit.

· This business partner record must be included in a partner determination procedure used by the sales order.

· The business partner master record must be assigned to the location in the ATP system in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management as follows:
¡ For SAP APO:
Basic Functions ® Availability Check ® Availability Check Using SAP APO® Assign Location in CRM Enterprise to Location in SAP APO
¡ For SAP ECC:
Basic Functions ® Availability Check ® Availability Check Using SAP ECC ® Assign Location in CRM Enterprise to a Plant in SAP ECC
The location is represented in the sales transaction item as a business partner with the role Vendor on the Business Partner tab.

You can also consolidate items so that they are delivered from a single location. For more information, see Consolidation Location.
The location can be entered
· Automatically, using location determination in SAP APO or SAP ECC, depending on which system you use to carry out availability check

· Manually
You can overwrite a location for a sales order item when you create or change a sales order
