Use

You create profiles in Web Auctions Administration to determine how your auction listing will appear on eBay® and to determine the information to be included in the listing.

You can create profiles for the following areas:

·        Shipping

·        Marketing

·        Location

Sellers can select a profile as a default preference, or select a new profile each time during auction creation.

Prerequisites

       1.      You have configured the Web Auctions Administration application on the SAP J2EE server. For more information, see the configuration documentation in SAP Solution Manager.

       2.      You are an auction administrator user.

For more information see User Mapping.

       3.      You have logged on as an administrator to Web Auctions Administration at:

Features

You create profiles in the Web Auctions Administration application under Auction Administration ® Maintain Profiles.

Shipping Profiles

You maintain shipping profiles to determine shipping policy, for example, which party pays for shipping, what the shipping charges are, whether shipping insurance is necessary, and any other additional checkout instructions.

When creating shipping profiles, only the Name and Checkout instructions to the buyer and Shipping & Handling Costs fields are mandatory.

Note

You can only use a shipping profile after you have activated it in Web Auctions Administration. You do this on the General Info tab page when creating or editing a shipping profile.

Marketing Profiles

You maintain marketing profiles to determine how your listing will appear on eBay®. The marketing profiles are standard features defined by eBay®:

·        Highlighted

Listing is emphasized with a colored band.

·        Bold

Listing font is in bold type.

·        Featured Plus

Listing appears in the Featured Items section at the top of the category listing pages on eBay®.

·        Home Page Featured

The listing should be rotated for special display on the eBay® homepage.

Caution

You can only use the Featured Plus and Home Page Featured marketing profiles if you have received ten feedback reviews for your listings on eBay®. Until you have these ten feedbacks, eBay® automatically blocks your use of these features.

Note

You can only use a marketing profile after you have activated it in Web Auctions Administration. You do this in the Marketing Profile Details section when creating or editing a marketing profile.

Location Profiles

The location profile is split into the following areas:

Business Location

Only the Name and Region fields are mandatory. You can also add a profile description, your business address, and your country.

Note

The Country field refers to the country in which your business is located. In the Region field, you select which regions your buyers should come from, as this is the area to which you are prepared to ship your products.

Sales Tax Details

Here, you determine the tax details. You can select the state in which tax is determined, the tax percentage, and also whether to include the tax on the shipping part of the invoice. This section is optional.

Checkout Details

Here, you determine the payment methods you will accept. This section is mandatory.

You can also choose whether you want the payment information to be included in the auction description.

Ship-to Locations

Here, you can determine which countries you are prepared to ship your products to.

You can choose only to ship within your home country, or worldwide, or in specific regions.

You can define as many auction location profiles as you like to suit your business needs.

Note

You can only use a location profile after you have activated it in Web Auctions Administration. You do this on the Business Locationtab page when creating or editing a location profile.
