Object documentation Migration iView Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use the migration iView to perform migration for document classes. You determine the repository for BI documents from which you want to migrate documents, as well as the CM repository in which you want to store the migrated documents.

The individual parameters for migration are now explained in detail.

The migration procedure is described in detail in Migrating Documents. For more general information about migration, see Migration of Documents into the CM Repository.

Structure

Screen Area: Migrate Documents

Dropdown Box: System Alias

You use this dropdown box to display all the available systems that are configured in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). Choose the system alias for the BI system from which you want to migrate documents.

Dropdown Box: Source (BI Document Repository)

You use this dropdown box to display all the available repositories for BI documents and choose the repository from which you want to migrate documents. The repository has to be configured so that it is connected to the system that you selected in the system alias field.

Dropdown Box: Target (CM Repository)

You use this dropdown box to display all available CM repositories and to choose the CM repository into which you want to migrate documents.

Note

During migration, the system alias of the BI system is added to the target path in which the documents are stored:

/<BI_CM_DOCUMENT_PREFIX>/<SYSTEM_ALIAS>/…

Example: The target store in the portal is named /documents/SAP_BW, where SAP_BW is the alias of the BI system you have chosen.

You should only store BI documents in the target repository. To protect the documents from unauthorized access, you have to configure this CM repository with the BI Security Manager for Documents.

Screen Area: Migrate

In this area you determine which document classes you want to migrate.

Set the indicator for each required document class. You can perform migration for each document class individually, or for several document classes simultaneously.

Note

If you set the indicator for metadata documents, the system displays the following warning message: “Metadata documents should remain in the SKWF. Deselect indicators if you do not want to migrate documents to portal”. This warning is displayed because in this case, the documents can only be transported automatically with the metadata. If you want to perform migration anyway, choose Start Migration.

If you have already migrated documents for master data, InfoProvider data or metadata, the system displays a warning message. If you want to perform migration anyway, choose Start Migration.

Screen Area: Other Options

You use the Overwrite Existing Documents indicator to overwrite documents that have already been migrated and are in the portal.

Save Pushbutton

When you choose this pushbutton, data is stored in a temporary store. When you next call migration, the settings are read from this store.

Start Migration Pushbutton

You use this pushbutton to start migration.

Stop MigrationPushbutton

You use this pushbutton to stop migration.

Link: Display Migration Status

You use this link to display a log file in the Web browser. This log file contains details about the migration.
