Use

The seller can monitor auctions in Web Auctions Administration.

Prerequisites

You have created and saved an auction. For more information see Auction Creation for Web Shop.

Features

The Monitor Auctions function in Web Auctions Administration enables you to search for a specific auction, display all auctions, or filter the display according to their status. The following auction statuses are available:

Auction Status

Description

Unpublished

A saved auction, not yet published.

Scheduled

A saved auction with a set publishing time/date.

Published

Auction is published in the Web shop. For more information, see Auction Publishing for Web Shop.

Closed

The auction date has been reached and bids may or may not have been made.

Published auctions can be closed automatically by the system once the end date has been reached, or manually by the seller at any time. When closing an auction manually, the seller does not have to determine a winner. The seller can simply close the auction and ignore the bids made.

Closed without Winner

Auction end date has passed but a winner has not been determined. This could be because the reserve price was not met, no bids were made, or the bids were unsatisfactory.

Finalized

The auction is closed and the winner has been determined. The winner can be determined automatically using a scheduled task that is scheduled by the administrator, or manually. For the seller to determine the winner manually, manual winner determination must be selected when the auction was created.

Once the winner is determined, the system:

·        Creates an order, with the winner’s details, from the quotation in SAP CRM with a distribution block. The block prevents the order being transferred to SAP ERP for delivery until the winner has completed checkout.

Note

The order has the same ID as the quotation. To display the order using the order ID in SAP CRM, choose SAP Easy Access Menu ® Sales ® Maintain Sales Transactions.

·        Creates a tab page in the auction details showing the bids made, the winner details, and the order details

·        Sends a confirmation e-mail to the winner with a URL link to the order in the Web shop

Incomplete Checkout

The winner has checked out the auction but a mistake has been made. The seller must resolve the problem before the checkout can continue. Incomplete checkout can occur if the buyer’s address is incorrect. The seller must manually change the address data in SAP CRM so that the ship-to address is correct.

Finished

The winner has checked out the won auction and completed payment. The system has transferred the order to SAP ERP for delivery and the goods have been sent.

Note

The winner can add goods to the order created for the auction products before checkout, and modify other order details (for example ship-to address). He cannot modify the winning auction products.

Activities

The seller selects an auction from those displayed and edits it accordingly. For published auctions the seller can monitor bids so far made.

Whenever the seller clicks the auction link to display the auction details, or refreshes the displayed auction details, the system updates the displayed bid history. The seller can also refresh the displayed bid history manually.
