Definition

A business transaction record that contains details on time, actual work performed and materials used for a service activity.

Use

You use the service confirmation record to enter details on working times and materials used for the services you have performed. This includes the following information:

·         Spare parts used

·         Reference object

·         Travel times

·         Working times. For example, duration, start and end of work

·         Technical details. For example, details the defects and damages, defect location and the reason for servicing the reference object

Structure

The details of a service confirmation record are classified into header and item data.

·         Header Data

Provides the reference number of the service process record that you are confirming, the reference object, the subject details and related notes.

·         Item Data

Provides detailed information of each item. This includes the spare parts used, time details, the cause for damage, the damage location and the actions undertaken to solve the problem.

Integration

·         Service Process

You can create a service confirmation record with or without reference to the service process. When you create a service confirmation record with reference to a service process record, then the service items that you select are copied to the service confirmation record. This reduces your data entry effort to a minimum.

For more information, see Creating a Service Confirmation Record.

For more information about service processes, see Service Process.

·         Follow-Up Assignment

As part of a service confirmation, you can create a follow-up assignment for the services that are not planned in the original service process. The service items that you confirm are copied to the follow-up assignment record from the service process record.

For more information, see Creating a Follow-Up Assignment.

For more information about service items, see Service Item.
