Procedure documentation Sorting Business Data in a List Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

In the mobile client application, you can sort collections of business data that are displayed in a list, such as search results. This allows you to efficiently sift through the data and find the information that you require.

This procedure introduces you to the methods available to you for sorting data by:

·        Selecting an individual column header

·        Making a selection from a context menu

Prerequisites

You have performed a business partner search and the search results are displayed on the Business Partners tile. For more information, see Performing a Search.

Procedure

...

       1.      One method for sorting a list is to use the results displayed in an individual column. To do this, on the Business Partners tile, position your cursor over a column header and select the secondary mouse button to access a list of sort options. You can also access the list of sort options by selecting the application key.
The system sorts the search results based on the column you selected. An icon appears in the column header to indicate that the list has been sorted.

Note

You can sort the list in either ascending or descending order. You can also select Sort Default to restore the initial sort order of the list. The icon in the column header reflects how the list is sorted:

Note

You can also hide a column by selecting Hide while the cursor is positioned over the column header. The column disappears from the view. To make the column reappear, select the secondary mouse button on the first cell at the column-header level. A context menu appears. Select Show from the menu and choose the columns you want to reappear in the search results list. To reorder the columns, see the note in step 4 of this procedure.

       2.      Another method for sorting a list is by making a selection within a context menu. This time, position your cursor in a cell within the search results list and select the secondary mouse button or select the application key.
A context menu appears, providing you with options for sorting the list based on the cell you have selected. For more information on context menus, see Context Menus.

Caution

Some text on the Business Partners tile appears in blue and is underlined. This text provides hyperlinks to other tile sets. If you select a hyperlink, you navigate to the corresponding tile set. You can use the back arrow in the toolbar to navigate back to the Business Partners/Search tile set. For more information on using hyperlinks, see Navigating: More Options.

       3.      Select either Sort Ascending or Sort Descending from the context menu.
The system sorts the search results list based on your selection.

       4.      Return the search results list to its original state by opening the context menu again and selecting Sort Default.

Note

You can re-order the columns of a list by selecting the column header and using drag and drop to place the column in its new position. For more information on working with drag and drop, see Drag and Drop.

Result

You can now sort a list in ascending or descending order through either the column header or the context menu.

With the search results list displayed on your screen, you are now ready for Navigating: More Options.
