Procedure documentation Copying Catalog Areas Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can copy individual catalog areas both within the product catalog and from other product catalogs.

The system determines which products from the source catalog should be transferred to the target catalog.

Note

Only products that belong to at least one of the distribution chains of the target catalog are permitted. See Product Catalog Variants.

Prerequisites

You have created a product catalog and corresponding catalog areas.

Note

The copying of catalog areas from a catalog with manual product assignment to a catalog area with automatic product assignment is not possible. If you wish to copy anyway, change the catalog type of the target catalog in Customizing. Path in IMG: Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Product Catalog ® Define Catalog Types

For further information on catalog types and product assignment, see Assigning Products and Catalog Types.

       6.      The area is copied to the corresponding level of your product catalog.

       7.      In the right window, choose Cancel to stop the copying.

You return to the product catalog administration view.

Result

If the description is already in the catalog, the copied catalog area has a counter with the character "~" as a description.

To change the description, select the copied area with a double click in the structure tree and change the description in the catalog area.
