Use

In the Marketing Planner, you use key figure planning, for example, to set up the budget for your marketing plan, to plan the costs of a campaign or the product quantities you want to sell as part of a campaign, and so on. Later you can transfer your plan data to ERP and check it against the actual values that are collected when the marketing project is carried out.

Prerequisites

Customizing for Customer Relationship Management

You have made the settings in Customizing by choosing Marketing Planning and Campaign Management ® Key Figure Planning.

The most important activity is Define Planning Profile Groups. Key figure planning in the Marketing Planner is triggered and controlled by entering a planning profile group on the Basic Data tab page of your marketing project.

SAP delivers a large number of standard Customizing settings that cover all standard processes. You only need to define custom settings if the standard settings do not meet your requirements.

If you want to use the online update functionality for transferring your marketing project master data to BI, you have made the settings in Customizing by choosing Marketing ® Marketing Planning and Campaign Management ® System Landscape ® Activate BI Update.

You have set up the RFC connection to the BI system in Customizing by choosing Marketing ® Marketing Planning and Campaign Management ® System Landscape ® Define RFC Connection. You have made sure that the remote user assigned to the system is a dialog user and that this user has the required planning authorizations.

If you want to use version management (see below), you have defined versions in Customizing by choosing Key Figure Planning ® Version Management.

If you want to use traffic light alerts (see below), you have made the settings in Customizing by choosing Define Planning Profile Groups, step Assignment of Traffic Lights.
