A location hierarchy is a grouping of locations based on a status or category within a structural level. The grouping can contain several levels with the possibility of zero locations or several locations at each level.
Note
You can maintain location hierarchies on your SAP Easy Access screen (transaction nwbc) under Maintain Location Hierarchies.
. For more information, see
You use the location hierarchy master data to support planning, logistics, reporting, as well as demand modeling and forecasting scenarios. For example, you might want to plan a promotional event for a specific geographical location hierarchy.
The location hierarchy master data contains information required to represent location hierarchies (such as an identifier, description, type, type code, master data system, organizational data, and currency).
The following location hierarchy types are available:
Hierarchy Type | Type Code |
---|---|
02
05
99
03
04
07
06
08
The Demand Data Foundation (DDF) module in SAP Customer Activity Repository can receive the location hierarchy master data from an external SAP or non-SAP application. For more information, see Integration Information and Inbound Processing.
