Background documentationChoosing the Calculation Model for Calculating Facility Utilization

 

Existing customers can use the following three calculation models for calculating facility utilization:

  • The model for calculating extended utilization of facilities with master contracts, checking accounts, and loan accounts. This is available as of banking services from SAP 8.0.

  • The model for calculating effective und nominal utilization of facilities with master contracts, checking accounts, and loan accounts. This is available as of banking services from SAP 7.0.

  • The model for calculating effective utilization of facilities with master contracts and checking accounts. This is available as of banking services from SAP 5.0.

Before you use the master contract application Facilities, you need to decide (once) which calculation model or combination of models you want to use for calculating your facility utilization. In a facility hierarchy, you can either use one of the models mentioned above, or the model provided as of banking services from SAP 7.0 in combination with that provided as of banking services from SAP 8.0. Your choice determines the configuration, Customizing, calculation method, and participants of the facility.

Existing customers can continue to use the model provided as of banking services from SAP 5.0 to calculate the effective utilization of a facility with master contracts and checking accounts, even with the display, calculation, and reporting functions that were adapted to the model provided as of banking services from SAP 7.0. You cannot transfer your inventory automatically to the new contracts. However, you can use these models in parallel by continuing your existing contracts with the existing settings, and at the same time, setting up new master contract hierarchies with new products according to the new models.
