Condition Group Type
A condition group type is a combination of condition types used in banking. You can define these according to their business use in Customizing.
You use condition group types to differentiate the condition group categories that we deliver and to group the condition types according to usage.
Example
The condition group category Settlement
can be used for all your settlements. However, you may need to differentiate here as your corporate customers could require different condition types than your private customers. In this case, you might specify the condition group types as follows:
Condition group type Settlement for Corporate Customers
contains the Debit Interest
, Credit Interest
and Overdraft Interest
condition types.
Condition group type Settlement for Private Customers
contains the Debit Interest
and Overdraft Interest
condition types.
To prevent condition types from being grouped into a condition group type if these are used differently, you need to assign each condition group type with a condition group category. This category only allows condition types of a condition group type if they are based on the same condition category from the conditon group category.
Once you have completed all the settings in Customizing, these are available in the application to enable you to define condition groups and conditions. For more information, see Editing Condition Group.

You want to represent a loan contract with installment repayments.
You execute the following Customizing activities:
You define the Installment Repayment
condition type that you assign to the condition category 110020 Repayment (Amount Based). You define another Annuity Repayment condition type that you assign to the condition category 110020 Repayment (Amount Based).
Next, you create a condition group type called Repayment (Amount Based)
, which you assign to condition group category 11 (Loan). This condition group type groups condition types Nominal Interest
Installment Repayment
and Annuity Repayment
.
In the application, you define a condition group called Installment Repayment
and assign condition group type Repayment (Amount Based)
.
In Customizing, you define the product Installment Loan
accordingly. The condition group type Repayment (Amount Based)
is activated.
In the application, you can now create a contract that is based on the Installment Loan
product.
