Procedure documentationEditing Condition Groups

You use transaction F9COGR2 (Edit Condition Group) to define standard conditions in condition groups. These standard conditions apply across transactions and are not dependent upon a contract. In this transaction, you define, for example, the interest and charge records for the condition types that you defined in the condition group types.

In Customizing in your application, you can assign condition groups to the products. If you create a contract for a product, the standard conditions in the product automatically apply.

Note Note

You can also define contracts that do not have standard conditions but only individual conditions. In this case, you have not assigned the product with any condition groups. You define the individual conditions during contract editing on the Financial Conditions tab page. For more information, see Editing Financial Conditions.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

If you need more condition types and condition group types than those that we deliver, you must create these in the Customizing activities Define Condition Group Types and Define Condition Type.

We provide differentiation categories. If you need more differentiation categories, define these in the Customizing of your application in the following Customizing activities:

  • Edit differentiation categories

  • Assign differentiation categories to condition categories

We deliver usage and determination periods for condition determination. If you need more usage and determination periods, define these in the Customizing of your application in the following activities:

  • Edit usage periods

  • Edit determination periods

If you give conditions a time limit, you can define assignment reasons for them. You create assignment reasons in the Customizing activity Define Assignment Reasons.

Procedure

You are in transaction F9COGR2 (Edit Condition Group).

For more information about the screen layout in condition editing and details about each screen area, see Editing Conditions under Scope of Functions.

Creating Condition Groups
  1. In the screen area Condition Group Overview, create a new condition group or copy an existing one by choosing Create Condition Group or Copy Condition Group.

  2. In the screen area Condition Group Header, choose the condition group type that you would like to create for a condition group from the input help.

  3. Assign a number and description for your condition group.

  4. Choose Save.

    Note Note

You have now defined the condition group key that comprises the condition group number and condition group type. After you save your data, you cannot change or delete this key.

    End of the note.
  5. In the screen area Condition Overview, choose the condition type for which you want to create a condition, and choose Create Condition. You can select all condition types that are assigned to the selected condition group type.

  6. The system now displays the screen area Condition Details, where you can enter the condition details. Execute the following steps, as described under Editing Conditions.

  7. Choose Save.

    Note Note

The system does not allow you to make retroactive changes to transaction charges and event charges. Save your data once you have made all the entries and only want to change these in future. If you save data in the interim, the system assumes that the condition group has already been used and only allows you to make changes.

    End of the note.

    Note Note

You need to repeat this operation for all condition types to which you want to assign conditions in your condition group. You need to create a separate condition group for each condition group type of a product.

Ensure that you use the same interest calculation method for all conditions that have the same currency.

    End of the note.
Changing Condition Groups
  1. In the screen area Condition Group Overview, double-click the condition group.

  2. In the screen area Condition Overview, the system displays a table of the following conditions from the condition group (validity periods):

    • All conditions valid on the system date and in the future.

    • All conditions that are no longer valid but that were valid for a particular past period with regard to the system date. (You create this period in the Customizing activity Define Condition Group Types in the Number of Days field.)

      Note Note

If you want to display all the validity periods of a condition group despite the entry made in the Number of Days field, choose All Valid Conditions from the toolbar of the screen area Condition Overview. You can return to the restricted display by choosing Restrict Display.

      End of the note.
  3. In the table, double-click the condition to select it.

  4. The system now displays the screen area Condition Details, where you can edit the condition details. Execute the following steps, as described under Editing Conditions.

  5. To add a previously unused condition type to the condition group, choose Create Condition and choose the required condition type. Enter the data as described in the Creating Condition Groups section.

  6. Choose Save.

Deleting Condition Groups

You cannot delete a condition group that has been saved.

Result

You have defined or edited standard conditions.
