Creating Course Groups
In this step, you create course groups.
You can assign course types to course groups. You do so in the step Creating a Course Type.
You store the following information for course groups:
· General description:
The general description of the course group is included in the course brochure.
· Relationship - belongs to course group:
Here you assign a course group to a higher level one. You create the course hierarchy from the top down.
· Course Group Info:
You can specify that the course group should be offered as a subject area when the user searches for and selects courses in the Learning Portal of the SAP Learning Solution.

Once you have created an object, you can create all further objects and data in a hierarchy in the Master Data Catalog. When you create objects there, the pertinent relationships with other objects in the hierarchy are automatically created too.
On the SAP Easy Access screen, in the SAP Menu choose Human Resources ® SAP Learning Solution ® Settings ® Current Settings ® Course Group. The Course Group: Initial Screen appears.

For clarity's sake, you should specify 01/01/ of a calendar year.

You have created a new course group.

Once you have created your first object, or if an object already exists in the system, you can use this as a template for any further objects you want to create. To do so, you enter the ID or the name of the object you want to use as a template in the field Course group in the Copy from box. The data of the existing object is proposed on the data screen. You can overwrite data as required for your new object. You can find this function in the master data catalog by choosing Object ® Create by copying.
