Procedure documentation Create Course Type  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

In this step, you create course types. A course type is a general description of a course or course date. It serves as the blueprint or model from which individual course dates can be created. In contrast to a course date, a course type cannot be scheduled to take place at a particular time.

Procedure

On the SAP Easy Access screen, in the SAP Menu choose Human Resources ® SAP Learning Solution ® Settings ® Current Settings ® Course Type. The Course Type: Initial Screen appears.

  1. Enter the validity start date of the object in the Validity field.
  2. Note

For clarity's sake, you should specify 01/01/ of a calendar year.

  3. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. The Create Course Type: Data Screen appears.
  4. Enter an abbreviation and a long text for the course type.
  5. Enter data as required for the new course type. Do so by maintaining the relevant infotypes via the tab strips.
  6. Caution

Refer to the information contained for the individual infotypes under the section Structure in Course Type.

  7. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Result

You have created a course type.

Note

Once you have created your first object, or if an object already exists in the system, you can use this as a template for any further objects you want to create. To do so, you enter the ID of the object you want to use as a template in the field Course type in the Copy from box. The data of the existing object is proposed on the data screen. You can overwrite data as required for your new object. You can find this function in the master data catalog by choosing Object ® Create by copying.

Note

The settings made in Customizing under Training Management ® Basic Settings ® Dialog Control ® Current Settings ® Maintain Actions affect the data maintenance activities you can carry out for course types. In this step, you specify what infotypes may be maintained for what object types.
