Local Reporting
By using this function in SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management, you have another option for evaluating archived data in reports, in addition to BI reporting.
In audit package management, you can choose whether you want to start complex reporting in SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (see Extracting Audit Packages to SAP NetWeaver BW), or if you prefer to use local reporting to evaluate your data without SAP NetWeaver BW. You can also export your data in the SAP Audit Information System format to use it for external evaluations in other analysis programs.
Local reporting is available as a pushbutton on the interface of Audit Package Management
. Or you can choose the Download Browser for Local Reporting
from the area menu of SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management.
Note
When creating an audit package template you specify whether you want to use the template for local reporting or reporting in SAP NetWeaver BW. The option of using data either for reporting in SAP NetWeaver BW or local reporting exists only for audit packages based on an audit package template for BI reporting.
For more information about audit package templates, see Processing Audit Package Templates.
You have assigned the role of ILM audit package administrator
(SAP_ILM_WP_ADMIN
). You have installed the Business Package for Retention Warehouse Administration 1.50, if you want to call local reporting in the SAP NetWeaver Portal on the Reporting
tab page. The same prerequisites that apply Audit Package Management also apply here.
Local reporting consists of two functions: the Download Browser and the Table Browser.
Download Browser for Local Reporting
Using this function, you can extract data from archive files and then download it to a local drive. When you are finished with local reporting, you can delete the files created in this way. In addition, the Download Browser displays the structure of the audit package. It provides an overview of the data contained in the audit package. The system shows you the system and client from which the data originates, the archiving objects contained in the audit package, the tables in the archiving objects, and which of these were already downloaded. It also displays all views that are contained in this audit package.
Table Browser for Local Reporting
The Table Browser shows you the contents of a table in an audit package. After selecting a table, you can display the data, and, as necessary, select and download individual data.
Call local reporting in the SAP NetWeaver Portal on the Reporting
tab page, or choose Audit Package Management
in your user menu. Choose an audit package, and execute the functions for local reporting.
Note
You have the choice of starting the creation of files for downloading as dialog processing or background processing. Since the data for local reporting is loaded directly from the archive, the runtime depends on the volume of data. We recommend that you schedule the file creation as a background job.
Create a file with the desired data. You can display the contents of the file again if necessary. Download the file to a local directory. For downloading the file, the system expects the necessary authorization object, ILM: AIS File Management
(C_IWP_LO
). Afterward you can delete the created file.
Note
Note that you must first delete the files created for the download before you can delete the audit package created for them.
