 Action Handler with iPPE

Purpose

You use this process if you maintain the master data for production planning with iPPE.

It is possible to either use the automated Action Handler or the manual Action Handler for this process.

Implementation

  1. You set up the connection between the external production control system and the SAP APO planning system.

  2. You transfer the R/3 reporting points of the backflush via CIF (Core Interface) to SAP APO (if necessary).

  3. You check the standard actions delivered by SAP in Customizing of the Action Handler (transaction /N/SAPAPO/AHC1), and - if these are not sufficient - define your own actions or program further functions.

Automated Action Handler

  1. In iPPE (transaction PPE): You assign actions points to the elements of the line structure (in repetitive manufacturing) or the modes of activities in the process structure (in shop floor production) and make sure that the production control system recognizes the chosen spelling for the keys of the action points. You do not need to specify predecessor/successor relationships for the action points because they are already defined by the line structure/relationships of iPPE activities.

To do this, proceed as follows:

    • You define new action points in iPPE.

    • If there are already R/3 reporting points for the backflush, you can use them as action points.

  2. In iPPE (transaction PPE): You assign one or more actions to the action points and parameterize them, if necessary.

  3. You test the automated Action Handler within SAP APO (transaction /N/SAPAPO/AHTS1).

  4. During production operation the system automatically carries out all actions at the corresponding action points.

  5. You check the production tracking information (transaction /N/SAPAPO/TI01) and make sure that the tracking records are archived on a regular basis (transaction SARA).

  6. You check the result of further actions in the appropriate transactions (for example, sequence schedule, SAPOffice, backflush).

  7. You check whether errors have occurred, correct the errors and trigger the actions again.

Manual Action Handler

  1. You check the settings for the standalone actions in Customizing of the Action Handler (transaction /N/SAPAPO/AHC1) and change them, if necessary.

  2. You define action networks in Customizing of the Action Handler (transaction /N/SAPAPO/AHC1).

  3. You assign an action network to the planned orders using action 01SAP_ASSIGN_ACTIONNET or BAdI /SAPAPO/RPP_ORD_CONV.

  4. You parameterize either actions of the action network for individual planned orders in planned order management or standalone actions and carry them out (transaction /N/SAPAPO/POM1).

  5. You check production tracking in planned order management (transaction /N/SAPAPO/POM1).
