 Service Fill Monitor

Purpose

You can use the service fill monitor to display a list of sales orders delivered on time. The service fill monitor displays the following:

  • Service level of the customer-requested quantities delivered on time (on the basis of a quantity algorithm)

  • Service level of the customer-requested schedule lines executed on time (on the basis of a line algorithm)

A customer-requested schedule line is on time if the actual goods issue date/time is before, or coincides with, the planned goods issue date/time. If you deliver the total customer-requested quantity on time, the customer-requested schedule line is a service fill. If you do not deliver part of the customer-requested quantity on time, the customer-requested schedule line is a service loss.

In SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM), the report Supply Chain Analytics Applications - Execute Analysis (/SCMB/SCR_SCHEDULE_ANALYSIS), which you can schedule periodically, makes the decision about which goods issue quantities are service fill or service loss.

Note Note

Ensure that the service fill decision is correctly entered in Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SCM Basis by choosing Basic Settings for Supply Chain Analytics Applications .

End of the note.

You can display the results of the service fill decision in the service fill monitor in SAP NetWeaver usage type Business Intelligence (BI system).

Prerequisites

  • You have made the Customizing settings for the service fill monitor.

For more information, see the IMG for SAP SCM under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Supply Chain Planning Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step Service Fill Monitor End of the navigation path .

  • Check the Customizing settings for the Analytics applications framework . For more information, see the IMG for SCM Basis by choosing Basic Settings for Supply Chain Analytics Applications .

  • You have made the settings for the sales documents that are relevant to the service fill monitor. The service fill monitor only considers those customer-requested schedule lines for which you have defined sales document types in Customizing.

For more information, see the IMG for SAP SCM under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Supply Chain Planning Next navigation step Service Parts Planning (SPP) Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Priorities and Attributes of Sales Documents End of the navigation path .

Process

  1. You create a sales order in SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) or in SAP ERP. SAP CRM or SAP ERP triggers Global Available-to-Promise in SAP SCM. When you save the sales order in SAP CRM, the system transfers the sales order data to the service fill monitor in SAP SCM. The service fill monitor saves this data until the service fill decision.

  2. Call the report Supply Chain Analytics Applications - Execute Analysis (/SCMB/SCR_SCHEDULE_ANALYSIS), which starts the analysis module of the service fill monitor.

This analysis module makes the service fill decision, provides the results for extraction in the BI system, and updates the service fill data basis .

    Recommendation Recommendation

We recommend that you schedule the report to run at least daily. If you want to monitor the different goods issue dates/times of a day, you can schedule the report to run immediately after the date/time.

    End of the recommendation.
  3. The service fill monitor makes a service fill decision as soon as the ordered goods have been completely delivered or the goods issue date/time that must be adhered to for the delivery to be on time is exceeded. The service fill decision consists of the following steps:

    • Check whether goods issue occurred on time, and assignment to a delay period

The service fill monitor compares the actual goods issue dates/times with the planned goods issue dates/times. Both dates/times are saved in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) or in SAP ERP, depending on the systems used.

If you want to compare the date/times yourself, in SAP EWM, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Extended Warehouse Management Next navigation step Delivery Processing Next navigation step Outbound Delivery Next navigation step Maintain Outbound Delivery Order End of the navigation path .

If you want to compare the dates/times yourself in SAP ERP, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Logistics Execution Next navigation step Inbound Process Next navigation step Goods Receipt for Inbound Delivery Next navigation step Inbound Delivery Next navigation step Change Next navigation step Customer Returns. End of the navigation path On this screen you can display the two dates/times on the Goods Movement Data tab page.

For more information, see Delay Periods .

    • Service fill decision about proportion of service fill and service loss

The system calculates the service fill and service loss quantities for each goods-issue-relevant item.

    • Assignment to a service fill category

The service fill monitor assigns all items of the sales order to a service fill category depending on the following locations:

      • Executing service fill location

      • Customer-facing location

      • First stockholding location

For an overview of the service fill categories, see Service Fill Categories .

    • Decision about the service fill relevance of items

The service fill monitor automatically marks the items that are to be included in the service fill result. Only these items are available in the BI system for further evaluation.

Parallel to making the service fill decision, the system creates the service fill data basis. The service fill data basis is saved in the extractor 0SPL_SFA_SRVDATABASE_1. For more information about the service fill data basis, see Service Fill Data Basis.

  4. The system saves the analysis results of the service fill monitor in the extractor 0SPL_SFA_SRVFILL_1. The data in the extractor shows both the original structure of the sales order and the service fill result.

For more information about the extractors, see Equivalent Extractor Fields in the BI System .

  5. The system transfers the analysis result of the service fill monitor to the BI system firstly into the DataStore object Service Fill Details (for each delay period) and the DataStore object Service Fill – Customer-Requested Schedule Line (for each delay period). From these objects, the BI system then transfers the data into the InfoCube Service Fill Reporting . This InfoCube contains the data from all delay periods.

    Note Note

Only those customer-requested schedule lines for which the InfoObject Service Fill Relevance has a value other than N are transferred and aggregated into the DataStore object Service Fill per Customer-Requested Schedule Line .

    End of the note.

The system transfers the data from the service fill data basis into the DataStore object Service Fill Data Basis in the BI system.

For an overview of the evaluations that you can perform in the BI system, see Evaluations in the BI System .

  6. The service fill monitor writes entries in the application log: For this it uses the object SCM_SPL_REP with the subobject SRVF.
