 Loading Equipment Data from SAP ERP into SAP SCM via SAP BI

Use

You need equipment data in SAP Supply Chain Management (SAPSCM) for the leading indicators delivered in the standard for leading-indicator-based forecasting. You can load this data into SAPSCM, for example, from SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (SAPERP) via SAP NetWeaver usage type Business Intelligence (SAPBI). In this instance, you proceed as described below:

Prerequisites

You have created equipment and equipment bills of material in SAP ERP. For more information, see Creating Equipment and Equipment Bills of Material in SAP ERP .

Activities

Loading Equipment Data into SAP SCM via SAP BI

In the standard, the system transfers equipment data from SAP ERP into the characteristic 0EQUIPMENT in SAPBI. You must schedule this transfer in SAPBI with an InfoPackage .

Loading Equipment Bills of Material into SAP SCM via SAP BI

To load equipment BOM data from SAP ERP into SAP SCM via SAP BI, you need to do the following:

  1. In SAP ERP, you create a view from which you can extract equipment BOM data. For more information, see Creating a View in SAP ERP .

  2. You create a DataSource in SAP ERP. For more information, see Creating a DataSource in SAP ERP .

  3. You replicate the DataSource created in step 2 in SAP SCM. For more information, see Replicating a DataSource from SAP ERP in SAP SCM .
