Function documentationForecast Analysis Run

This function analyzes forecast data sent by the customer, and creates alerts according to predefined settings.

Prerequisites

You have made the following settings in Customizing:

  • Basic settings (for example InfoCubes and key figures to be used)

  • Defined a forecast analysis profile and assigned it to the relevant location product master data. For more information, see Forecast Analysis Profile.

  • Defined key figure comparisons and assigned them to the forecast analysis profile.

For more information, see Customizing for Demand Planning under Start of the navigation path Customer Forecast Management Next navigation step Define Profiles and Settings for Customer Forecast Management End of the navigation path.

Features

  • The function reads the relevant key figures from the InfoCube defined under basic settings and analyzes forecast data according to the customizing settings.

  • It checks the forecast data for readiness and completeness, and it generates alerts if the data has not been provided in time, or if it is not complete.

  • It compares different key figures or different versions of the same key figure, and if tolerance limits are exceeded, it raises an alert.

Activities

  • You define parameters (location product or product group and time horizon) for the analysis run on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Demand Planning Next navigation step Customer Forecast Management Next navigation step Background Processes Next navigation step Forecast Analysis Run End of the navigation path.

  • You execute the analysis run as a background job or interactively by the pushbutton on the screen.

  • You can display the alerts in the Alert Monitor and on the Customer Forecast Management screen, where you can also adjust the forecast data as needed. For more information, see Personal Object Worklist (POWL) for Customer Forecast Management.
