If you want to use the multi-item single delivery location (MISL), you must make the following settings:

  • In integrated rule maintenance, create a rule of type Multi-Item Single Delivery Location and at least one inclusive rule. If required, create exclusive rules. For more information, see Creating Rules.

    If required, create a calculation profile (see Calculation Profile).

  • In Customizing for Global ATP, create a rule strategy (see Rule Strategy) and make all the required settings for the condition technique so that the system can find this rule.

  • In Customizing for Global ATP, make the following settings for the multi-item single delivery location:

    1. Determine the business transaction, and if necessary, the characteristic values, for which the system is to calculate an MISL.

      Note Note

      The OLTP system does not transfer any characteristic values using the requirements grouping to SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO). If you want to activate MISL using the characteristic values as well as the business transaction, define characteristic values using the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Multi-Item Single Delivery Location.

    2. Activate the MISL by selecting the Multi-Item Single Delivery Location checkbox.

      Note Note

      If you call the ATP check from SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM)and the same business transaction is not assigned to all items in the requirements grouping, you must ensure that the MISL is active for at least one of these business transactions. If the MISL is active for at least one business transaction, the system activates the MISL for the entire requirements grouping.

    3. Enter the rule strategy you created, that is the rule strategy with which the system can determine the rule of type Multi-Item Single Item Delivery Location.

  • If you are performing backorder processing (see Backorder Processing in the Background) and want the backorder processing to select and check all items in a requirements grouping, select the Select Complete Group checkbox. To select this checkbox, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Global ATP Next navigation step Backorder Processing Next navigation step Backorder Processing in the Background End of the navigation path.

    If you do not select this checkbox, the following can happen:

    • The backorder processing removes the confirmation of individual items in a requirements grouping, which means that not all requirements could be delivered from one location.

    • The backorder processing only checks the availability of individual items in the requirements grouping at the location in which the system previously confirmed them. The backorder processing does not take into account the substitute locations that the system has determined based on the rule type Multi-Item Single Delivery Location.

  • If you want to use the following functions for a MISL determination, activate the business function SCM-APO-ATP, Usability and Various Functions (SCM_APO_ATP_1):
