 Calculation Profile

Use

In a calculation rule, you define the parameters that determine if a rules-based availability check has been performed successfully. These conditions are valid for all combinations of product (or substitute product) and location (or substitute location) of the current rule.

Features

You can define the following information in the calculation profile:

  • Allowed delays

  • Early confirmations

    Note Note

You may not set the Early confirmation indicator if the availability check is called from SAP R/3 (SD). Otherwise, errors can occur. SAP R/3 (SD) does not currently support early confirmation.

    End of the note.
  • Consumption limit

  • Maximum number of partial deliveries

The partial delivery refers to each substitution checked.

  • Overdelivery

  • Package size of a partial delivery

    Example Example

A package size of 12 is defined for customer requirements with the requested delivery quantity of 100 in SAP APO. Overdelivery is not permitted. The multiple of the package size closest to the requested delivery quantity is 96. You should be aware that if complete delivery is configured in an ERP system, 96 cannot be regarded as the complete quantity since the requirements quantity is 100.

    End of the example.

    Note Note

Calculation profiles are not taken into account during evaluation of an exclusive rule. You can no longer assign the calculation profile to an exclusive rule since the conditions that you defined in the calculation profile always refer to the location products that resulted from rule evaluation. Location products are excluded in the exclusive rule.

    End of the note.
  • You can use the validity indicator to define if the respective indicator is evaluated. You can thus define, for example, that zero is valid or that only a certain number of parameters is valid.

You can also define parameters in the calculation profile that Capable-to-Match (CTM) uses. For more information about CTM, see CTM Planning with Rules .

Note Note

In rules-based ATP with Capable-to-Promise (CTP), the parameters in the calculation profile for the receipt elements (for example, planned orders), which are created during the ATP check, are not correctly taken into account.

End of the note.
