Worklists for Service Parts Planning
Planners and customers, such as dealers, can use worklists in Service Parts Planning (SPP). Planners and customers can use these worklists as a start page that groups together all the important information and tasks. According to the planner's or customer's area of responsibility, the worklist contains different queries with planning and analysis results, for which action currently needs to be taken, or which a planner or customer wants to use to get an overview. A worklist can therefore contain queries with forecast results or purchase orders that have to be released manually, as well as queries with alerts referring to critical situations in planning.
Worklists are realized using the SAP NetWeaver technology of the personal object worklist (POWL). Within a personal object worklist, you can define and save different queries, such as for forecast results or for the results of supply planning. You can change and personalize the selection criteria and layout of the individual worklists at any time. From the individual worklists, a planner can navigate to the relevant transactions of service parts planning. For example, if a worklist contains forecast results that a planner must release, discard, or change manually, the planner can navigate from this worklist to the Interactive Forecasting
transaction directly, to display additional information and process the forecast results.
Planners and customers can process different queries in a worklist in parallel. If queries contain large quantities of data, a planner or customer can call all queries, for example, to open these in parallel. The system displays the amount of data contained in each query in parentheses, immediately after the query. In the results of the query, planners and customers can see when the query was last refreshed or what percentage of processing time has already passed.
To be able to call the worklist of the planner, you need to use the SAP NetWeaver Business Client. For more information, see Using the SAP GUI or SAP NetWeaver Business Client.
In the standard SAP system, the planner's worklist is delivered with the following categories:
Action needed
Queries in this category only contain the planning results for which action is currently needed. Depending on the query, you can either perform the required action in the query directly, or navigate from the query to the transaction in which you can perform the required action, and which provides you with additional information to assist you in making decisions.
Example
You can release stock transport orders that have been generated by deployment or the inventory balancing service, directly in the query. However, you cannot release a modified replenishment indicator in the query directly, since you require additional information for this regarding the replenishment indicators of the other BOD locations. For this reason, to release a modified replenishment indicator, you can navigate from the query directly to the stocking/destocking approval, where you can find the information you require and release the modified replenishment indicator.
Alerts
Queries in this category include alerts that the system has generated during the individual planning processes in Service Parts Planning. A planner has the option of displaying the total amount of the displayed alerts of an alert type according to different criteria (for example, by product or by alert category), and then selecting certain alert types to navigate to the alert monitor, where he or she can display and process the alerts of this alert type.
Monitoring
Queries of this category include planning data for which a planner is responsible, and not only that for which action currently needs to be taken. A planner can also navigate from these queries to the respective transactions in Service Parts Planning, to display detailed information.
Example
Query STO Approval
in the category Action needed
only includes stock transport orders that require manual release. Query STO
of category Monitoring
includes all stock transport orders generated by the system during the last deployment or inventory balancing run.
For more information about the individual queries that are shipped as part of the planner's worklist, see Queries in the Planner's Worklist.
You can use Business Context Viewer (BCV) to display information about alerts, current demand and forecast, forecast time series, shortage and stock overview in a graphical format. For more information, see Analytics with Business Context Viewer (BCV).
To use Business Context Viewer (BCV) in Service Parts Planning (SPP), you must activate the following business functions:
SCM-APO-SPP, Service Parts Planning 1
(SCM_APO_SPP_GEN_1
)
FND, Business Context Viewer Main Application
(/BCV/MAIN
)
For more information, see SCM-APO-SPP, Service Parts Planning 1.
In the standard SAP system, the customer's worklist is delivered with the following categories:
Action needed
Queries in this category only contain the planning results for which action is currently needed on the part of the customer. The customer is only able to perform the required action in the query directly; he or she cannot navigate to other transactions in Service Parts Planning, since the information available there is for internals planners only.
Monitoring
Queries of this category include planning data for which you want to guarantee access for your customer. A customer can display this information in the individual queries; however, just as for queries of the category Action needed
, the customer cannot navigate to other transactions in Service Parts Planning.
For more information about the individual queries that are shipped as part of the customer's worklist, see Queries in the Customer's Worklist.
Note
For a customer to be able to use the worklist, he or she must fulfil the following requirements:
The customer must be created in the location master data of SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization as a location of location type 1010.
The location of the customer (location type 1010) must be part of the bill of distribution (BOD).
A business partner with business partner role Internet User has been created for the customer. This business partner is assigned to the customer location in the location master data. For more information about business partners, see SAP Library for SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM) under .
You can create new categories and queries in the worklist, as well as change existing categories and queries. You can also personalize the worklist, enabling each planner or customer to display a user-specific worklist, meaning they only see the data that is relevant for them. For more information, see Changing and Personalizing Worklists.
You can specify settings for the worklists in Customizing for SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization, under . For example, you can define the server group that should be used when data is retrieved for a worklist.
You can use the detail component to display form-based context-related information in most of the Planner’s Worklist
and Customer’s Worklist
queries. For more information, see Detail Component for the Planner's and Customer's Worklists.
To use the detail component in Service Parts Planning (SPP), you must activate the SCM-APO-SPP, Service Parts Planning 1
(SCM_APO_SPP_GEN_1
) business function. For more information, see SCM-APO-SPP,
Service Parts Planning 1.
You can call the planner's worklist in the SAP NetWeaver Business Client if your user is assigned to the role Service Parts Planning (Worklist)
(SAP_SCM_SPP_WORKLIST
).
You can either call the customer's worklist from the SAP Easy Access
screen by choosing , or by entering the URL of the transaction in your Web Browser. If you are a customer, you can only call this worklist using the URL. The structure of the URL for the customer's worklist is as follows:
