Assigning Demand Categories During historical data capture , the system assigns a demand category to each sales order item.
Each demand category can have the attribute
relevant for forecast
. If you want the forecasting service to use the demands of a demand category, you must have marked the demand category as forecast-relevant.
For the demand categories we defined to be in your system, you have transferred the DataSources 9ADEM_CAT and 9ADEM_CAT_TXT as well as InfoSources 9ADEM_CAT and 9ADEM_CAT_TXT to the Business Intelligence system (BI system) in SAP SCM and activated them. You have transferred the following InfoPackages for these InfoSources:
Load Master Data from APO
Load Texts for Demand Category from APO
Note
Each time you change the
relevant for forecast
indicator of a demand category, you have to reactivate the master data of characteristic 9ADEM_CAT.
The following describes the standard demand categories:
The system assigns the demand category
FDO_DEM
to sales orders in the future.
This demand category is not forecast-relevant.
The system assigns demand category
ADJ_DEM
to demands that
historical data maintenance
has marked as manually adjusted demands.
This demand category is forecast-relevant.
The system assigns the demand category
PROMO_DEM
to demands that the planning service “SPP: Data Realignment for Promotion” has marked as promotion demands.
This demand category is not forecast-relevant.
If you have not implemented the Business Add-In (BAdI)
BAdI: Determine Demand Category for Historical Data
, the system assigns the demand category
NONE
to demands that do not correspond to any of the above demand categories.
This demand category is forecast-relevant.
If you want to work with your own demand categories in addition to the standard demand categories above, you must implement the BAdI
BAdI: Determine Demand Category for Historical Data
(/SAPAPO/PDEM_DEM_CAT).
For more information about this BAdI, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for
Advanced Planning and Optimization
under
.
You can see the settings for the standard demand categories in Customizing for
Advanced Planning and Optimization
under
. Choose
Predefined Demand Categories
at left in the navigation tree. Here you can create additional new demand categories (provided that you have implemented the BAdI described above).
