Creation of Shipments
In SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC), you, as a supplier, can create shipments based on a selection of advanced shipping notifications (ASNs). The following options are available:
Creation of a new shipment based on a selection of ASNs from the due list for shipments
Creation of a new shipment based on a manual entry of ASNs on the Create Shipment
screen
You have activated the business function Supply Network Collaboration 1 (SCM_SNC_GEN_1
).
For more information about required Customizing settings and master data, see Master Data and Settings for Shipments.
When you create a shipment, SAP SNC can automatically assign a shipment number to the shipment, based on defined number ranges for shipments. For more information, see Number Assignment.
If you create a new shipment on the Due List for Shipments
screen, the system automatically assigns the following data to the shipment:
Locations and business partners of the shipment are the locations and business partners of the first assigned ASN.
The shipping date of the shipment is copied from the ASN that has the earliest shipping date.
The delivery date is copied from the ASN that has the latest delivery date.
On the Shipping Details
tab page of the Create Shipment
screen, you must assign a carrier to the shipment. With the value help, you can choose a carrier that is maintained in the business partner master data.
When you create a shipment, the system can compute the total weights and volumes at shipment header level, based on the ASN detail data. For more information, see Calculation of Total Weight and Volume of a Shipment.
You can save new shipments as a draft or publish them. For more information about shipment publication, see Publication of Shipments and Update of ASNs.
