Publication of Shipments and Update of ASNs
As a supplier, when you publish a shipment document in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC), you indicate to the customer that the shipment has left the ship-from location and is on its way to the goods recipient. You can configure the system in such a way that it also automatically updates the advanced shipping notifications (ASNs) that are assigned to the shipment.
You have activated the business function Supply Network Collaboration 1 (SCM_SNC_GEN_1
).
In Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
under , the ASN Date Update
checkbox is selected. If you integrate SAP
SNC with SAP ERP, you use DESADV.DELVRY05
IDocs that are assigned to the /SPE/IDOC_INPUT_DESADV1
inbound function module for the message exchange.
When you publish a shipment, SAP SNC processes the shipment and the assigned ASNs as follows:
The system copies the shipping date and the delivery date of the shipment to the ASNs that are assigned to the shipment. As a result, the ASNs have the same shipping dates and delivery dates as the shipment.
Draft ASNs that are assigned to the shipment are validated and published.
If the shipping date or the delivery date of a published ASN has changed, SAP SNC publishes them again. If you have integrated SAP SNC with a customer back-end system, SAP SNC also sends an update via XML message of type DespatchedDeliveryNotification
to
the back-end system of the customer.
SAP SNC sends information about the published shipment to a customer back-end system using XML messages of type FreightOrderExecutionRequest
.
Note
If you publish a shipment whose assigned ASNs have not yet been published, this might result in an error during inbound processing of the shipment IDoc in SAP ERP. For more information, see Integration of Shipment Collaboration with SAP ERP.
