Priority Mode

Definition

A priority mode is an operating state that determines the weighting factors employed by the system in calculating task priorities under a particular set of warehouse circumstances.

Use

Using the TRM Monitor, you can do the following:

Create priority modes. When you create priority modes, you assign weighting factors to each of the entities in the priority model to reflect a set of warehouse circumstances, such as workload, shift, time or season.

Copy priority modes

Delete priority modes

Set the default priority mode for a site

You can also switch between different priority modes during task creation and task selection using the BAdI LTRM_MODE_SET.

Example

Gerd Schmidt, the warehouse manager, creates the priority mode Busy Season for the months of the year where the warehouse experiences heightened activity. At those times, the emphasis is on performing tasks as quickly as possible, so as to ensure that deadlines are met. Consequently, when creating this priority mode, Gerd assigns relatively high weighting factors to the LSD and synchronization priority entities, increasing the likelihood that the highest priority task involves picking.
