Creating an Item Info Object

Use

Test items are the individual elements that make up a test or performance unit. An item consists of a test question, statement, exercise, or similar with possible answer alternatives. You can create various types of items within the Knowledge Workbench. The Knowledge Workbench currently supports three multiple choice (MC) variants, a rating and fill-in item formats for the Performance Assessment Workbench (PAW). For more information about the various item formats, see Test Item.

Procedure

In the Knowledge Workbench Explorer, choose Info Object ® New ® Info Object… to open the Create New Info Object wizard.

Select Item as the info category.

Select the item format you want to use as the info class and then choose Next.

Enter the attribute values for the item and then choose Finish.

The item you created appears in the Knowledge Workbench Explorer.

Note

The item attributes you specify here are general attributes for the info object, not to be confused with the item-specific attributes you specify when editing the item.

Result

Once you have created the item, you can edit its contents.
