Prerequisites

You must have already created the report template that you assigned to the generation variant (see Creating Document Templates).

You want to create the variant header.

On the Product Safety screen, choose Reports ® Edit generation variants ® This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

From the generation variant hit list, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

You want to edit the variant header.

From the hit list, the description, or the rating, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The generation variant header appears.

  1. Enter the required data in the generation variant header. Note the following:

Generation variant

Enter a key for your generation variant when creating it.

Validity area

Enter the leading validity area for the generation variant.

Note

You can define more validity areas by choosing Rating/validity.

Report category

Enter the report category to be used for the report template that you assign to this generation variant.

Template/version

Enter the key and the version of the report template to be assigned to the generation variant.

Controlling Report Management

You use the indicators and the initial status to control which statuses reports must acquire in turn in report management.

Display Options

Date format

Choose the date format you want to use to display dates on the assigned report.

Decimal display

Choose the decimal format you want to use to display decimal numbers on the assigned report.

Caution

Do not change your generation variant after you have used it for generating reports.

Result

The SAP System completes the administration data.

You can now edit the descriptions, the rating and validity, or application objects.
