Purpose

You can use forms to enter data for processing in SAP Business Workflow, or to display and edit data. Using forms also enables users who do not have a SAPGUI installed on their computer to use the SAP System.

Process Flow

SAP Business Workflow supports the following types of forms:

Forms as steps in a workflow definition

These forms are related to a data structure that is saved in the workflow container. Using the step type Forms, you can generate a form from the workflow system with a structure that you can adapt yourself . This form can be used for displaying and editing the form data. It can also contain additional control elements that can be used, for example, for the approval of form content. For more information, see Maintenance of a Form Step.

You can also use a form to start a workflow. The workflow system can automatically generate the required form transaction. For more information, see Definition of Options for Starting a Workflow.

If you are using the SAPGUI for HTML, you can execute forms directly in your web browser.

Web forms

Using Web Forms enables users to communicate with the SAP System using a web browser and the Internet. You can use web forms to:

SAPforms forms

You can implement SAPforms Forms to use forms that have been created with mail or Office applications (for example, Microsoft Outlook). You can execute these forms to start workflows, execute workflows, and start BAPIs or IDocs.
