Use

All information from the displayed work item is shown in the technical work item display.

The technical work item display is intended in particular for workflow system administrators.

Note

The preparation and display of data takes place independently of the work item, always in similar ways. You should note the work item type shown on the screen.

Features

Work item display

Work item information

The following specifications are displayed depending on the work item type:

Additionally, Attachments and Mails are displayed for the work item. If a message was generated when the method was executed, you can display this by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Message or Extras ® Display return value.

Deadline data

Here you can find the current dates/times (creation date/time of work item and date/time processing started and ended) as well as the deadlines that are monitored by the runtime system (requested and latest start and end deadlines).

A monitored deadline shown with red is in the past. If the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text symbol is displayed as well, a defined action was triggered.

Description

The description displayed here corresponds to the tasks or workflow description depending on the work item displayed, whereby variables contained are resolved. For dialog work items, this description is displayed to the recipients in the workflow inbox, and it contains notes and recommendations for processing the work item displayed.

Note

If you have selected a work item using the work item selection or the workflow outbox rather than your workflow inbox, you can execute it provided you are one of the possible agents.

It is not necessary in this case to belong to the recipients.

Monitored work item

For missed deadline work items, the data for the monitored work item, as well as the data for the missed deadline work item, is also displayed. You also find information on what deadline has been missed.

Functions

As well as the functions available in the standard view of the work item display, the following additional functions are also available.

Display/create/delete object

Each object referenced in the work item container is displayed with its default attribute. The default method of each object can be executed upon request. If no default attribute is defined for the object type, the key fields of the object are displayed instead.

You can extend and process the list of objects. The main purpose of this is to make the relevant information available to the agents of the subsequent steps in the workflow as well.

Only object types that support the IFFIND interface can be selected. You identify an actual object of this type by specifying its key fields. You find the corresponding menu entries by choosing Work item ® Object ® ...

Execute for testing

In order to make it possible to check the runtime system's program execution (work item manager and workflow manager) in debug mode after execution of an object method, internal communication within the workflow system cannot take place asynchronously. To achieve this behavior of the runtime system, you can execute this as the recipient of the work item, by choosing Extras ® Execute for test. Enter /h in the command field first to go to the debug mode.

Monitored work item

In a missed deadline work item you can go to the work item display of the work item with deadlines monitored by the workflow system by choosing Goto ® Monitored work item.

Full display functionality, including all navigation and change options, is available here for the monitored work item.

Type-specific data

In the following work item types, you can display additional details by choosing Goto ® Type specific data:

For work queue work items, the objects and tasks contained in the work queue are listed.

For wait step work items, the system specifies how many events are expected and how many events have already been met.

Instance linkage

You can go to the definition of the instance linkage for terminating events or wait step work item by choosing Extras ® Instance linkage. There you can see which event (identified using an object type and event name) is expected by which object (identified using an object reference).

Display container

Choose Extras ® Container to display the content of the work item container.

Change Work Item

Choose Edit ® Change to change the work item. For more information, see change work item.

Activities

You can go to the technical view of the work item display by choosing Goto ® Technical work item display in the work item display or by having this display variant as a presetting in your personal workflow settings.
